Group of 4 to Royal Marine Edward Moat, with extract of service record & WW1 medal roll, served over 30 years in the Royal Marines

Edward Moat was born on 6 Dec 1899 and enlisted on 3rd Jan 1918 as a Private serving at Plymouth and briefly on HMS GLORIOUS in1918 at Rosyth. He later served in HMS EMPEROR OF INDIA (it was in 1923 on this ship that he became a Marine) and HMS FURIOUS which had been reconstructed with a full-length flight deck and was used extensively for trials of naval aircraft and later as a training carrier in the 1930s. He was discharged on 2nd January 1939 and immediately re-enlisted 3rd January 1939 Depot RM Deal. Later he served R.M.R.D., The Plymouth Division, and HMS ROYAL ARTHUR until July 1945. Finally to the Plymouth Division again until September 1948 and then pensioned off having served over 30 years in the Royal Marines. His LSGC was issued to him in Feb 1933 and his war medal 1922. He was married in Queenstown in 1921. He died on the 29th of July 1965.
