Distinguished Flying Cross group of 4 to Pilot Officer Alistair Ian Taylor Moir, pilot of Halifax Bomber with 76 Squadron, RAF, he completed a full tour attacking targets in Germany, 'took part in a low level attack on Flensburg through the heaviest and most intense enemy opposition', also low level attacks on Berlin, Duisburg, Bremen & Düsseldorf, he was awarded his DFC London Gazette 14th May 1943, he was then posted to 1652 H.C.U. Training Unit, he was killed when the engine on his flight burst into flames killing him and three crew members at Marston Moor, Leonard Cheshire was one of the first on the scene and remembers that he was dead at the scene, comes with full history, original photos, his next of kin slip & news cutting.
