Distinguished Flying Medal to 572802 Flight Sergeant/ Flight Engineer John Harry Wright, 83 Squadron, RAF, took part in 43 operational sorties against the enemy, his targets included Hamburg, Essen, Cologne and Düsseldorf, on two occasions over Essen and Hamburg his aircraft was damaged by heavy flak, later he went to the Far East where he died in service on 25th April 1946, remembered with honour at Karachi War Cemetery, see history
