Fine Group of 8 to Lieutenant Commander Reginald Nash, Royal Navy.
He served in WW1 from August 1914, present at the Battle of Heligoland on H.M.S. Badger, the first ship to sink a German submarine (see Illustrated London News, 21-5-1915).
Later Lieutenant on H.M.S. Beaver, then from 1-9-1915 Lieutenant in Command of H.M.S. Ambuscade.
On 8-4-1917 he carried out a successful attack on an enemy submarine and was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, presented personally by the King.

While serving on H.M.S. Malaya, he rescued Sultan Mehmed VI, the last Ottoman Sultan (see news cuttings).
He continued service into WW2, serving on submarines. After the war he became a House Surgeon at the City of London Maternity Hospital, where he took up medicine (see included 1958 reference letter).
