Outstanding & Excessively Rare Fleet Air Arm DSO Group of 8 Awarded to Commander J. Sholto Douglas, Royal Navy (late Royal Air Force).

Mounted as worn, with FAA uniform wings.
History: Pre-war RAF pilot who served on the North-West Frontier (Mohmand operations 1933). Transferred to the Fleet Air Arm and commanded No. 807 Squadron (Fulmars) aboard HMS Ark Royal during 1941 Malta convoys (Operations Substance & Halberd). He led aggressive attacks on Italian bombers, claiming a probable S.79 and damaging others. Awarded the DSO for courage and resolution in Mediterranean waters. Later served on other carriers until the end of the war. Died 2 November 1981.
