Served in the Near East in WW1, later becoming Medical Officer in Italy. After the war, he returned to Scotland as Deputy Superintendant at Hawkhead.
He was a victim of the blackout 1st December 1943, in a hospital in Nottingham when he was knocked down by a motor vehicle.
