Brief Account of Merits of Order of Glory 3rd Class
While fighting on the frontlines against German fascist invaders, he proved himself to be a brave, fearless, and battle-hardened soldier of our Motherland.
On 23 July 1944, during the breakthrough of German defensive positions in the area of the villages Cheretkhov-Korshuv, Stanislav Oblast, he maintained the telephone line between the division commander's observation post and the battalions of the 987th Rifle Regiment. When our infantry approached the enemy trenches, the Germans opened intense fire, and the communication lines were repeatedly broken by shell explosions. Thanks to Comrade Polyansky's bravery, the line was restored and kept operational in the shortest possible time.
On 3 August 1944, as the enemy retreated under our pressure, he quickly crossed the swollen Svitiaz River (Ukraine) - whose bridges had been destroyed by heavy rains - with communication equipment. Despite enemy artillery fire covering their retreat and the strong current, he waded across at a ford carrying the cable reels and gear on his back, continuing to advance with the attacking battalion of the 987th Rifle Regiment. This ensured direct communication between the command post and the assault units.

*Brief Account of Merits of Order of the Red Star
On December 14, 1944, at height 744, Comrade Polyansky established communication under enemy fire within the designated time. Shortly afterward, a break occurred in the line. Without awaiting orders, Comrade Polyansky ran to fix the break. At that moment, the enemy further intensified artillery and mortar raids, but this did not stop the brave signalman. The cable was broken in eight places; he quickly repaired the breaks. On the way back, not far away, he heard the voice of a wounded Red Army soldier asking for help. Comrade Polyansky, ignoring the enemy fire, bandaged the wounded man and carried him on his back to the division's command post. During Comrade Polyansky's time on duty, communication remained uninterrupted.
