WW1/ WW2 merchant navy group of 5 to Captain & Master Peter Little.
On 16th April 1941, whilst captain of the ship M.V. Swedru he was killed by an ariel bombing from a German long-range bomber FW Condor 200, en route from Freetown, Sierra Leone to Liverpool on Convoy SL.69.
The ship was hit by two 250-pound bombs, which hit the bridge and exploded. The Captain and other senior officers were killed instantly, 32 survivors were picked up by the corvette HMS Gladiolus.
